Tour Blog – 5

So our first proper UK tour is complete and its been an amazing couple of weeks. Last night in London’s Cargo venue was definitely a highlight. To have a sold out show in London is really something that we couldn’t even imagine a few months ago. But thanks to a lot of hard work from a lot of people (too many to mention, but ya’s know who ya’s are) it has happened and it’s a great starting point in our plans to take our music to as many people as possible.

Not all the gigs were packed of course  (our smallest crowd was maybe around 70 people) but each show offered enough for us to continue to build on. A special mention has to go to Murray James and his band who supported us on tour, a great singer, songwriter and really cool guy. You will be hearing a lot more from him.
So that’s it, we’ve headlined a UK tour, Addicted to Progress is picking up some good reviews and some great regional airplay, and our album Closer to You is out on Monday, May 14th. Although we far from expect it to storm the charts (yet!), it’s a great feeling to get it out there in a new territory and see it grow. Bring on the European tour next Friday!

Love ya’s

Hey Guys.

Just arrived in Cardiff for our gig in Clwb Ifor Bach (I can’t pronounce it either) its a really cool venue so looking forward to the gig tonight. Unfortunately the UK leg of our European Tour is coming to an end now, with only 2 gigs left. We have tonight in Cardiff and London on Thursday, which means we have a day off tomorrow, so a couple of drinks wouldn’t be a bad idea after tonights gig. The last 2 nights have seen us in Birmingham and Bristol, both great shows with great crowds. The Bristol show was at a venue called Thelka which is a big boat that is permanently docked in the city, so that was a pretty cool experience. Right so, I’m off to soundcheck some drums. Speak to you all soon!

Hey everyone, its great to be back on tour! Brighton last night was amazin…the last time we played in Brighton there were roughly 10 people in the crowd. Last night the place was full. Feels so good to see the hard work payin off and we’re more excited than ever about the band.

Sitting in dressing room in Birmingham at the moment watching Man Utd try score 10 goals against Swansea… I don’t think it’s gonna happen. My team Coventry just got relegated to league 1 so I don’t think I’ll see them for a while…at least I can slag the lads about Utd throwing the league away!
Probably gonna head out after show tonight…a couple of years ago in birmingham we ended up in a place called ‘snobs’. It cost 1 pound for a shot so it turned into a very interesting night! Here’s hopin that place stilll exists and more importantly, that offer is still going!

Thanks to everyone for all the encouragement and support, really enjoying this tour and morale is high. Feels like we’re gettin better with each gig. Good times! Love always and hope to see u soon.

Hey Guys.

We are just on our way to Brighton now for our gig tomorrow night in Sticky Mikes, hungover and listening to a 90s playlist iv been working on although its hard to actually hear anything as our manager Jim is singing every word at the top of his voice!

Its been great to get back out on the road again and so far the tour has been going amazingly and totally surpassed all our expectations! The first gig in King Tuts, Glasgow was sold out (meaning we will be back to Scotland in July for T in the Park!!) and Liverpool and Manchester weren’t far behind. Our London show in The Cargo next week is now officially sold out too which will be a nice way to finish of the tour!

Anyway we are just arriving at the hotel and im looking forward to stretching my legs and chillin in the hotel for a while before we find something fun to do tonight..

Tour Blog – 1 – Glasgow

Hey all,
Feels like its been a while since we’ve been on tour properly so let me bring you up to date with the goings on over the last few weeks…
We’ve signed to a great indie UK label which has led to lots of press, promo and now a full UK tour; we’ve released Mark My Words (with a hottie starring in the video!); and we’ve announced a little gig in the O2 in December in Dublin!
It’s a really exciting time for us to be honest. Being an independent band in Ireland, we always released and promoted our own albums but now that we have a group of people who believe in us and are trying to make it happen for us in the UK, it feels like a new chapter is starting for us.
This tour is back to basics, small but cool venues (such as King Tuts tonight in Glasgow), and a hectic tour schedule (8 gigs in 10 days, over 1500 km travelled and lots of radio promo along the way) and I can’t wait.
First up is Glasgow and apparently it’s gonna be a full house. As I sit in a Starbucks writing this I flick through the free Metro magazine and come across this article about us. Think it’s gonna be a good couple of weeks…
