Dave’s Days!

Hey everyone, tour of europe is goin great…so far we’ve played in zurich, Bonn, Amsterdam, Warsaw, vienna, and right now I’m writing from a dressing room in Baden Baden (Germany). We are waiting to be called for a show called ‘SWR Late Night’ to perform Mark my words. No idea who else is on the show just yet but we’re keeping an eye out for some German stars. If hasselhoff strolls into the dressing room beside us we’ll know we have it made.

We just got back from Warsaw, which we discovered is an 11 hour drive from where we are now. Jimmy are manager drove the entire thing aided by red bull and bratwurst. What a hero! He’s a 12 hour drive to budapest ahead of him this evening so we’re keeping an eye out for his breaking point. In the back of the van i think we’ve done our quota of gaming for the year: tiger woods and fifa have been hit hard and may even take us to our own breaking point… but as long as the gigs keep going as well as they are, and me and knoxy keep killing egan and danny in fifa, i think we’ll b fine :) ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I wrote that a cpl days ago but forgot to post it! thats what sitting in a van for 4 days does to ya, my brain is turning to mush! So to update ya: budapest gig was great craic and we went on one of biggest sessions ever after it. Thank u to everybody involved :) ! It didn’t help the drive to vienna at all however, which jim took on without complaint….well maybe with some complaining, mainly about us still being drunk, but he got us there safely!

The gig itself was great…to see so many austrians singing the words to our songs can really do wonders for a hangover. Shame we had to leave straight after to start our journey to Neuchatel, Switzerland. Just the 12 hrs this time! Well worth it tho and Neucahtel was really cool. A particular group of French Swiss dancers in the front row definitely helped boost morale after the long drive!

We’re now in dressing room in Hamburg, our second time in this venue and expecting it to be almost a full house tonight. Cant ask for anything more than that. Life is good. Best wishes to everyone and thanks for all the support. now to post this….! hope to see u all soon

Tour blog 1 – Europe Oct/Nov 2012

Hey guys,

It feels so good to be back on tour again. The summer was filled with cool festivals and short trips for gigs all over Europe but we haven’t done a full tour since our UK tour in May. We’re back to the way we started out in Ireland 5 years ago for this tour. Just the 7 of us in our van – the 4 band members, Jim (manager), Gav (our recently married sound engineer) and Johnny (keys and techie) and if the first gig is an indicator of how this tour is going to go, then it’s gonna be a good one!

Abart in Zurich on Tuesday was amazing. To fill out such an historic venue is means loads to us. We looked on the wall and some of the bands that have graced that stage included Muse, Supergrass, and Ash. Danny’s flight was delayed and he only just made the show. Thankfully it all worked out in the end and was a great night. Tonight we are in Bonn for Rockpalast which is an amazing and historic German TV show that has featured such amazing artists as Rory Gallagher, Van Morrison and Radiohead. Seems like we’re in good company on this tour!

Love ya’s

Conor

Tour Blog – 8

Hey everyone, we’ve just arrived back in Ireland from what was a really successful first tour of Germany. The last gig was in crystal club in Berlin and was a fantastic night. It was so hot!! like playing in an actual oven! it’s good to be home to Ireland’s heat wave , i find it a little easier to handle! A great night tho and very memorable :)

thanks to everyone who came t see us over the last week. it was unforgettable in so many different ways. Whether it was knox and egan walking around cologne for 8 hours drunkenly lookin for the hotel, or watching 150 austrians singing all the words to someone elses hands, we wont forget this trip .

Spare a thought now for our long suffering manager Jim who is currently driving the van back to Dublin. I imagine he’s somewhere between hamburg and birmingham at the moment, or if he’s any sense still in hamburg soaking up the best of what the reeperbahn has to offer. God speed jim…

Love always and see u soon,

Dave

Hey Guys..

We are on our way to Berlin now for our last gig of our little European tour. So far we have been to Vienna, Cologne (where me and Egan had an absolute nightmare and got lost for 7 hours!!) and Hamburg with a lot of driving in-between!! To keep our selves entertained on the drives we have been getting into and finishing off a few series including Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones to name a few. All of them Unbelievable!!
Really looking forward to the gig tonight in The Crystal Club. Berlin is a really cool city and last year when we were here with The Script the crowd were amazing!!

In other news we have decided that Closer To You will be our next single in Ireland.

See yas soon!!
